This is a modification I made for my RepRap Prusa i3 MK2 Printer. It’s simply a fan that mounts to the front of the printhead and cools the plastic as it is being extruded. This cooling helps to produce better prints when manufacturing with PLA plastic.
It was designed in two parts, the funnel and the mount, so that it could be 3D printed more easily. The mount is what holds the fan and connects the entire device to the 3D printer’s printhead. The funnel is fixed to the bottom of the mount to channel the air from the fan directly at the nozzle of the printhead.
